The Junior Common Room is the elected body that represents every undergraduate at New College. It speaks for students to the College, runs events, and supports members who need help.
JCR officers sit on the major college committees, including Governing Body, the Academic Committee and the Welfare Committee. When decisions are made about accommodation, teaching or facilities, the JCR has a seat at the table.
Welfare comes first. We run peer support and weekly welfare teas, and hold a fund for members who need emergency money.
The Garden Party, weekly BOPs, guest formal halls and film nights. The JCR runs the college social calendar, and something is on most weeks.
The JCR funds student-run clubs across sports, drama and academic subjects. If the society you want does not exist, we will help you set it up.
